Paphos - Land of the KingsMain tourist hotspot, nightlife, heritage sites, beaches and golf. What more do you need? A few years back Paphos was the one end of Cyprus that you were a fool to want to visit. The locals thought of it as the "cow's guts" and anyone who owned land there owned something worthless. Needless to say, those people who owned land in Paphos are now laughing verd hard indeed. Paphos has boomed in recent years from an influx of foreign investment primarily in property acquisition and this has brought many holiday makers to the island seeking private accommodation in villas and apartments to get away and enjoy their own tailor made trips. Because of the high number of foriegn property owners using their villas and apartments as second homes for some winter sun, Paphos maintains a lively feel throughout the year. Most holiday towns in Cyprus close in the winter months due to inactivity. Paphos does have alot to offer, but i am not one to ever push the main commercialised aspects of a place because i feel that is not why you are reading this article. Perhaps you would like to know about the best places to see and visit. Maybe you would like to find out about restaurants that have been recommended by us because they offer good food as opposed to paying to be in a slot on this site to get exposure? Of course you will want some night life, to experience the hustle and bustle of the harbour road...i will be visiting that part too, but let's not forget the important part of your holiday which is good rest and relaxation, family time, beach time and maybe a spot of golf or site seeing. This Paphos section is going to be quite involved to complete as there is alot to see and do. As always, once i get round to finding out about various places, i will post a write up.
