We decided to make the Seven St Georges our first recommendation
because there is a good chance you will want to go there
more than once!
Without any shadow of a doubt this has to be the finest
restaurant that specialised in Meze anywhere in the Mediterranean.
All the food is organically prepared, even the local wine
is made in house. The full goodness of the ingredients
is fully appreciated the instant you enter the restaurant.
The rich pure aromas of the food being prepared in the
kitchen gives you a hint of what is to come.
George is the proprietor and he has adopted a very personal
approach in the way he runs his restaurant. You will be
personally greeted and looked after in a way that you
will not accustomed to in other restaurants. The layout
is unique with an outdoor area under the grape vines and
an indoor area which has some interesting bits and pieces
lying around. Need some extra oregano on your fresh olives?
Nab a bit off the fresh oregano hanging from the window
and sprinkle it on!
The food is served in the traditional way, local dishes
are brought out in moderate portions, but pace yourself
as the food will keep coming until you invariably realise
you have no room left in your belly for anything else.
That is of course until you see the desserts. We won’t
spoil the surprise here, but make sure you do leave enough
room for pudding!
Not only is all the food cooked from fresh, each dish
although local in origin has a slight twist of flavouring
that gives it that extra something which we simply will
not find elsewhere.
To locate:
Make your way to the Yeroskipou traffic circle, enter
the circle and take the exit where Debenhams is on your
immediate left. At the second set of traffic lights turn
right, follow the road for about 1km, on the left you
will see the restaurant but be warned it is hidden so
keep your eyes peeled.
